TfW Rail Services – Relocation of HQ to Pontypridd
A meeting was held on 2 September 2020 between TfW Rail Services and TSSA to recommence consultation on the relocation of staff from Cardiff to the new TfW Rail Services headquarters building in Pontypridd.
TfW Rail Services and TSSA commenced initial discussions in February of this year. However, the Covid-19 crisis has inevitably resulted in a gap in the consultation process, and a revised timeline for the move.
Moving dates are now planned from mid-November 2020 to February 2021.
The relocation of the headquarters building to Pontypridd is a commitment required by the Welsh Government for TfW Rail Services to co-locate its headquarters with that of our client, Transport for Wales.
This meeting followed the sharing on Exchanges on 26 August 2020 of information about the new Pontypridd building including internal and external visuals.
The meeting recognised the importance of reaching a clear understanding and agreement relating to those staff that would be faced with additional travelling time and/or additional travelling expenses as a result of the relocation from Cardiff to Pontypridd, and both sides agreed that an early agreement was desirable in
respect of how staff should either have adjustments made to their working arrangements and/or be compensated.
TfW Rail Services has made clear its commitment to exploring options with individuals affected and this will include flexible working where possible.
Team briefings commenced on Thursday 3 September 2020 led by functional Directors.
The next meeting is planned to take place on Monday 14 September 2020 and fortnightly thereafter.
