TSSA has intervened at High Speed 2 (HS2) to postpone redundancy notices during the COVID-19 emergency.

The company were intending to serve notices to workers as a result of a restructuring during the next two to three weeks.

HS2 had told staff that up to 40 people would be affected and have now committed to pause this. They have also given undertakings to ensure that all those employees can be redeployed in the near future – in response to expected staff shortages over the coming months.

TSSA General Secretary, Manuel Cortes, said:

"This simply would not have happened without the collective strength of our union. I pay tribute to our fantastic Reps and staff who worked hard to make this a reality. Well done everyone.

"Again this shows the importance of being in our TSSA family."
