TSSA condemns assault by passenger on staff at Ilford Station

TSSA today condemned the assault on a member of a rail staff at Ilford rail station, and called for urgent action to address the rising number of assaults on transport workers.

It is understood that a passenger attacked a member of staff with his fists, in an unprovoked attack, causing him to fall and hit his head.

TSSA General Secretary Maryam Eslamdoust said, “This appalling attack highlights the growing dangers faced by transport workers. TSSA is calling for urgent action to address the rising number of assaults on transport workers, including increased resources for British Transport Police and stronger protective measures at stations.”
