TSSA remains in rail talks
TSSA negotiators remain in talks with both Network Rail and the Rail Delivery Group this week (w/c 21 November).
We have meetings with both Network Rail and train operators to progress the issues discussed over the last two weeks.
Talks with Network Rail have been ongoing for some time and are now at an advanced stage. Talks with the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) – acting on behalf of train operators – only restarted w/c 7 November after an eleventh hour invite to talks on the condition that industrial action was suspended. These are the first talks with the RDG since August and are therefore less advanced.
TSSA’s negotiators believe that progress has been made over the past two weeks of talks on areas affecting TSSA members – including on job security, terms and conditions, pay and ticket office closures.
TSSA will be attending talks this week in good faith and attempting to secure the best possible negotiated settlement to this dispute.
TSSA will also be meeting the Transport Secretary, Mark Harper, on Thursday of this week.
TSSA’s main aim is to secure a negotiated settlement which can be put to members to vote on.
However, TSSA remains prepared to take further industrial action and to re-ballot to keep the mandate for industrial action live.
