TSSA's Ballot at GTR is Now Open

Image shows white writing on pink background 'Look Out For Your Ballot Paper!'

The ballot at GTR opened today and ballot papers should start arriving in the next few days by post. It is vitally important for you to vote in this ballot and have your say on the future of your employment and your industry.

Please note that the arrival of ballot papers may be influenced by the upcoming CWU postal workers strikes on 30th September and 1st October, making it all the more important that you complete the ballot paper and return it as soon as it arrives.

However, if you haven’t received your ballot paper by Wednesday 5th October, please email membership@tssa.org.uk for a replacement and ensure you return your ballot paper before the ballot closes at midday on Wednesday 19th October 2022.

As a reminder, in this dispute, we are seeking:

  • A pay rise which meets the rising cost of living
  • A no compulsory redundancy agreement for 2022
  • No un-agreed changes to terms and conditions

GTR have failed to provide these assurances.

Please vote yes in your TSSA ballot, please speak to your reps and please encourage any colleagues not yet a member of our union to join today – this is a crucial moment to have union representation.

Please VOTE YES and YES to both questions in this important dispute over your pay and job security.

Below is a timeline of key dates throughout the balloting period.

We don’t take this lightly and of course industrial action of any sort is always a last resort.

Please VOTE YES to both strike action and action short of strike in this ballot to send the strongest possible message to GTR that you deserve better.

You may also be aware that TSSA and other unions are taking industrial action on dates in October. For information about what to do when there is industrial action taking place that you are not involved in, see this link
