GWR: Performance Outbased Election (Formerly TSD)

Since Simon Bubb announced that he was planning to stand down as a representative for the Outbased constituency TSSA has ran a process to ask members if they would be willing to be nominated to stand to represent the constituency.

We sent out various communications calling for nominations and set a deadline of 2nd October to receive these.

I’m pleased to announce that I received 1 valid Nomination from Keith Croker who is an AOM based in Exeter and so he was duly elected unopposed last week.

Keith will continue the valuable work that Simon has been carrying out along with the other TSSA Management reps on the Joint council and I would like to send my thanks and appreciation to Simon for all the efforts he has put in over the many years he has been a rep on behalf of TSSA members.

Through the years when you didn’t have Management Collective Bargaining Simon did much to help us rebuild and recruit members which helped lead to us winning the collective bargaining agreement that we have today, as we are only as strong as our members. In that vein I’d ask you each to speak to your colleagues who aren’t yet members of TSSA and encourage them to join today to make us stronger for you and your colleagues, they can join TSSA online

The council has had some positive outcomes for members, not least the introduction of Rest Day Work payments outside of control and we are also currently exploring increasing those payments due to a historic agreement that TSSA created when we previously had Management Collective Bargaining, so watch this space!

Please join me in welcoming Keith as your new Representative
