GWR: Tri Annual Representative Election Outcome
I’m pleased to announce the outcomes of our recent nomination process that closed at 9am today (5th September). To see that communication please click here
These Elections within GWR were for the Trains Service Delivery (TSD) and Performance constituencies based in Swindon control and the out based Constituencies across the Network. As we received the exact number of valid nominations from members as there were Representative Seats all candidates have been elected unopposed, all candidates within a constituency are listed Alphabetically by Surname.
TSD and Performance Constituency:
Swindon = 3 x representatives’ positions:
Tom Bennett – Train Service Manager (Elected unopposed)
Glynn Boswell – Delay Attributor (Elected unopposed)
Oliver Gray – Customer Experience Manager (Elected unopposed)
Outbased Constituency = 1 representative position:
Daniel Lane – Area Operations Manager (Elected unopposed)
I will now write to the company to notify them of these Appointments and advise that they will start from 10th September for a 3-year term of office till 2027. I would like to thank all of the previous representatives for their hard work and dedication on behalf of our members.
Retaining Collective Bargaining
You have achieved no small thing, by joining TSSA and demonstrating to GWR that the majority of you and your colleagues want to have an independent Trade union like TSSA be recognised to negotiate on your behalf you have made your company aware you aren’t willing to just stand by and be open to their mercy or whim. We always need to be conscious that employers will do what they can so as not to be held accountable in this fashion and so keeping a Strong TSSA membership is important to guard against seeking to do away with our collective bargaining agreement. Please encourage your colleagues to join us online at www.tssa.org.uk/join in order that your collective voice is amplified and strengthened through these new representatives who have been elected today.
