GWR: Rostering and Resources Collective Bargaining
I have great news for all our members in Rostering and Resources, we are just waiting on a signature for the new collective bargaining agreement that will see you included in with Train Service Delivery as having the right to be bargained for by TSSA. This has been a long but worthy road encouraging your colleagues to join TSSA and demonstrate support to have the right to have your terms and conditions bargained for by your own elected TSSA representatives.
It doesn’t stop here!
Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy and so now we need to ensure that you select 2 representatives from your department who are TSSA members to represent everyone within Rostering and Resources. They will have a big task to ensure that your rights are protected and improved upon but hopefully with all your support they can make strides to make your workplace better.
Having strong membership is key and important to this as the more members we have the better chance we have of winning on your collective behalf. So please do continue to encourage your colleagues to Join TSSA, both so that they have a say in who represents you but also in how your representatives represent you! They can join online at www.tssa.org.uk/join or by downloading a membership form by clicking here
Joint Council Nominations
Your representatives will have the right to negotiate on things like pay and terms and conditions, rosters, annual leave and Promotion, Transfer, Redundancy, and resettlement arrangements. They will have the right to be consulted on things like reorganisations, changes in working practices, Accommodation, TUPE, and welfare arrangements etc they will also work with other trade union representatives (Health & Safety, Equality and ULR/Skills reps) and the TSSA Full time Organiser, Alan Valentine.
Rostering and Resources will have 2 TSSA seats on the Joint Council which has 4 TSSA representatives from Trains Service Delivery who are already elected. You will all be represented by the same Company Council representative selected from one of the 6 joint council representatives.
All Joint Council Representatives receive paid time off to carry out their duties and receive trade union training and to explain the role of trade unions to new employees, more information can be found by clicking here. Courses for new reps are running in the next few months, so this is the perfect time to stand! Representatives also have additional legal protections under the law.
If interested, you should complete and return the attached nomination form by 12 noon on Wednesday 23 February 2022. This should be scanned and emailed to Alan Valentine by clicking here
If we receive more than two nominations, then we will need to run an election which only TSSA members will get a vote in.
We are currently encouraging members to consider stepping forward to be Health and Safety representatives and there is a separate communication about that but please encourage you colleagues to stand for that important role too. If interested you can find out more by clicking this link
If you have any questions on any of the above, then please contact Alan Valentine by clicking here
It is important to ensure your contact information and work information is up to date and correct. You can update your membership record with a change of home address, workplace, job title or other contact details yourself by visiting www.tssa.org.uk/login to register and update your TSSA membership record. Being registered for My TSSA will also enable you to see some restricted pages on our new website and is important for Representatives to be registered for so that they can access our training programme.
Please also encourage any non-members to join TSSA at www.tssa.org.uk/join
