E-Mix represents Black, Asian and other Ethnic minorities for all members and levels within TSSA and is seeking an auditor to work with the group's Treasurer.
The SOG campaigns on black and ethnic minority issues - proposing motions to the TSSA Executive Committee for discussion at the Labour Party and TUC.
In this role you would act as second signatory to the Treasurer and provide the independent inspection of the group’s financial records, to ensure they are correct.
The auditor would be a full member of the SOG, be expected to attend the group’s meetings and participate in discussions and decision making. E-Mix meets on a monthly basis, though we understand that it may not be possible to attend every meeting, due to work and other commitments.
A financial qualification is not required, but we are looking for someone who is of an ethnic background, and who is both reliable and conscientious.
If you would like to nominate yourself for this role, please send the group’s Chair, Gillian Pitter, a short statement setting why you are interested – the email is email@example.com,
Members should submit their expressions of interest by noon on 12 October. The applications will be considered by E-Mix at their next meeting and a successful candidate agreed upon, by vote if necessary.
If you have not already informed TSSA of your ethnic background, please do so as it is important to be able to identify members who fall into this category, so that we can support you and address any issues that affect you directly.
Members can also view the information the union has for them on our membership system, and you can update your ethnicity information in the drop-down section under ethnic code, click the button below to get started
