Information about the re-ballots in train operating companies
Overview
TSSA is balloting thousands of members across 13 train operating companies for strike action and action short of strike in the ongoing national rail dispute.
We are fighting for:
- Pay
- Job security
- Terms and conditions
Companies involved
Members are being balloted in the following companies:
- Avanti West Coast
- Cross Country
- C2C
- East Midlands Railway
- Greater Anglia
- Great Western Railway
- GTR
- LNER
- Northern
- Southeastern Railway
- South Western Railway
- TransPennine Express
- West Midlands Trains
(TSSA settled with Network Rail in December 2022)
Timetable
Avanti West Coast:
Ballot opens: 23 January 2023
Ballot closes: 17 February 2023
All other TOCs (the 12 listed above)
Ballot opens: 1 February 2023
Ballot closes: 28 February 2023
Ballot papers are posted out first-class post via Royal Mail and should arrive within three days of posting. Please allow at least three days when returning your ballot papers by post – send it straight away to ensure it is received and counted.

If you haven’t received your ballot paper by 5 February please let us know so we can get a new one sent out to you. Email membership@tssa.org.uk
