GWR – TSSA Equality Rep Vacancies

Nominations for the 2 Equality representative vacancies advertised in August closed at 9am on 10 September 2021. Whilst there has been interest in the positions, unfortunately one candidate withdrew their nomination, and another submitted it after the closing date. Therefore, in order to ensure that there is a fair process I plan to extend the nomination deadline for both vacancies until 9am on Monday 11 October.

Stand for Nomination

I will now review the nomination form received after the original deadline to ensure it is valid for this new process and communicate with the individual accordingly. But I am now reopening the nomination period therefore if any members are interested in standing for either of the 2 vacant positions then they need to do as follows:

Any TSSA member working within GWR can become a TSSA Equality rep. Although it would be good to have candidates from the BAME community and/or those that are Neurodiverse particularly from the East and West regions where we are not yet represented.

Getting nominated by your fellow TSSA members is straight forward simply fill in the nomination form that can be downloaded, then complete it with your details, sign it and find 6 TSSA members to nominate you for election. Then scan it and email it to Alan Valentine valentinea@tssa.org.uk

Nominations should be received no later than 9am on Monday 11 October 2021, any questions should be directed to Alan Valentine.

If following that date, there are more than 2 valid nominations then I will make preparations to run an election.

All representatives will be entitled to paid time off to carry out their duties and receive training.
