Re: West Midlands Trains Strike Action Friday 4 November and continuous action short of a strike.

As set out in our previous newsletter and following the successful members' strike ballot and your reps' decision to take industrial action at WMT, I am writing to set out the full details of tomorrow's strike action.

All TSSA members employed by West Midlands Trains are instructed not to commence work between 00:01 on Friday 4 November 2022 to 23:59 on Friday 4 November 2022.

Strike action will therefore take place for the whole of the shifts commencing during this period. Accordingly, strike action will also take place on Saturday 5th November 2022 in respect of any members expected to commence shifts before 2359 Friday 4th November 2022 that run into Saturday 5th November 2022.

All TSSA members employed by WMT who are due to start work between 00:01 and 23:59 on Friday 4 November are instructed not to book on for work.

Do not work from home.

Do not book on for any shift that starts on Friday 4 November.

Picket details

Details of all TSSA picket lines can be found on our website. 

All members are encouraged to support picket lines, where your reps and colleagues will be demonstrating their support for your campaign for fair pay, job security and to protect terms and conditions. If there is a picket line at your workplace, or you can get to HQ, you can join them to show your solidarity and to help to make them a success. For more details on picketing, read the guidance on our website.

Birmingham Tyseley Depot       05:30 - 15:30

Birmingham New Street Station    06:00 - 14:00

Bletchley Station                07:00 - 12:00

Crewe Station                                      09:00 - 11:00

Birmingham 134 Edmund Street      07:00 - 14:00

West Midland Signalling Centre        05:00 - 07:30 and 12:00 - 14:00

Worcester Shrub Hill Station              06:30 - 15:00

Lichfield City Station                            05:00 - 07:30


Ongoing Action short of a strike

Effective from 00:01 on Saturday 1 October and continuing until the end of the 6-month period which is 6 January, all TSSA members employed by WMT are instructed to observe a ban on activities associated with voluntary contingency cover.
