London Overground agency staff update

As London Overground station staff you are on the front line - making sure that essential workers can travel, but also at risk.

For the last three weeks we have been in constant contact with ARL, TfL, the Mayor of London’s team and the government to make sure that you, as agency workers, have the proper rights and benefits – including sick pay, pay whilst self-isolating/caring or living with vulnerable family members.

At last it seems that TfL, ARL and government are responding to the issues that we are raising. ARL is now seriously negotiating with agencies to ensure that you have pay and benefits, and we will keep you fully updated.

ARL have told us that they are providing agency staff with daily updates about Coronavirus and that you have access the same protective equipment and cleaning products as ARL staff. If this is not true, or you have any concerns about your health, safety or security, then please let me know.

TSSA's General Secretary, Manuel Cortes, and other trade union leaders are talking regularly with the Department for Transport and Government ministers to discuss the national response to Coronavirus and support for the transport sector, and separately with Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and Deputy Mayor for Transport, Heidi Alexander, to discuss all TfL services and London-wide measures and responses.

TSSA has updates and information about Coronavirus.

Your reps and I are now meeting with ARL senior management on a weekly basis via conference call. We are receiving daily updates about the current situation for London Overground and its workers.

TUPE Transfer from Proactive

Your contracts and terms and conditions

We believe that Proactive failed to properly consult its staff about the TUPE transfer and will be in touch in the next week about taking this to Employment Tribunal.

We have also been addressing issues regarding transfer of terms and conditions and working hours; if I haven’t responded to you, my apologies.

I will be in touch on a weekly basis, but please contact me by email, text or phone if there is something that you want to discuss with me.
